1. Who we are

Dr A K Padhy Dental is the dental practice of Dr. A K Padhy, Dental Surgeon (BDS), at two dental clinics:

For personal data you share with us, we act as the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the rules made under it, and we follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. Health information is treated as sensitive and confidential, in line with the Dentists (Code of Ethics) Regulations.

2. What this website collects

Nothing directly. This website has no forms, no sign-up, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising trackers, and it does not set cookies of its own.

A few things you should know:

• Hosting logs: like any website, our hosting provider may automatically record basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type and time of visit) for security and to keep the site running.
• Fonts and images: all fonts and images are stored on this website itself, so opening a page does not contact Google or any other third party.
• Maps: the clinic maps on this site are still images stored on our own website (map data © OpenStreetMap contributors), so viewing them sends nothing to a map provider. A live Google Map loads only if you tap “Show map”, and Google may then set cookies under its own privacy policy.
• Links out: buttons for WhatsApp, phone calls and Google Maps take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.

3. When you contact us on WhatsApp or by phone

When you message or call us, we receive the details you choose to share, usually your name, phone number, preferred clinic and time, and sometimes a short description of your dental problem.

• WhatsApp is a service of Meta Platforms. Messages travel under WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
• Please share only what is needed to arrange your visit. Please do not send detailed medical records, ID documents or payment details over WhatsApp unless we specifically ask for them.
• By contacting us, you consent to us using these details to respond to you and arrange your appointment. You can withdraw this consent at any time (see section 7).

4. How we use your data

• To reply to you, arrange and confirm appointments, and send reminders about your own appointments and care.
• To examine and treat you, and to keep your dental records, including any X-rays, treatment notes and consent forms created at the clinic.
• To meet our legal and professional obligations.

Our no-spam pledge: we never send promotional messages, never ask for OTPs or bank details, and never sell or share your number for marketing.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only when needed for your care or required by law, for example:

• a dental laboratory or specialist involved in your treatment, with your knowledge;
• authorities, courts or regulators, when the law requires it.

6. How long we keep data, and how we protect it

• Appointment messages are kept only as long as needed to arrange and follow up your visit.
• Clinical records are kept for the period required by applicable law and professional guidelines, and are then securely disposed of.
• We use reasonable security practices to protect personal data: limited access by clinic staff, secured devices and confidential handling of records.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
• correct, complete or update it;
• erase it when it is no longer needed, except where the law requires us to keep it (for example, clinical records);
• stop using it, by withdrawing your consent;
• let someone you nominate exercise these rights if you are unable to.

For a child (under 18), a parent or lawful guardian gives consent and makes these requests.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Grievance Officer

We aim to respond within 7 days, and in any case within the time required by law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the law or our practices change. The effective date above shows when it was last updated.
